Sangita Santosham has been working as a Psychologist and Counsellor since 2004. She initiated and established the first Counselling Centre at St. Andrew’s Kirk and went on to pursue her graduate studies from Oklahoma City University, USA where she obtained a GPA of 4.0/4.0. Her specialisation was in Counselling and Psychotherapy. On her return to India she set up her own practice at the Santosham Chest Hospital. She then went on to complete her M.Phil where she stood first in the Department of Psychology for her research on using the Creative Arts to help children with Learning Disability. She also presented her research paper at the 30th International Congress of Psychology at Capetown, South Africa. Sangita has a wide range of experience from working with children, refugees, clients with clinical issues, sports professionals, to marital, family, relationship and career issues in the workplace. Though a psychologist by profession Sangita is also a musician and theatre practitioner. Therefore, her area of research and her approach to therapy are based on using various attributes of the creative arts along with counselling to bring about inner healing and insight.
