Dr Jayam Kannan is a gynaecologist par excellence with 40 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has over 30,000 successful deliveries to her credit! She has been one of the pioneers of infertility treatment in the state of Tamilnadu.She is an emeritus professor of TN Dr MGR Medical University and serves as the chairperson of the National Adolecent Health Committee, FOGSI.She did her D.G.O., M.D. from Madurai Medical College after completing M.B.B.S from Thanjavur Medical College. As a student of medicine, she had won 13 out of 15 medals and bagged the President of India Award for 'Best Student in Medicine' in 1968. She continued her excellence during her post graduation and obtained University First Rank in M.D. (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Dr A.L Mudaliar award for the best MD post graduate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.She has presented over 37 papers in international conferences and over 84 papers in national and state level conferences during her illustrious career. This includes presentations in England, USA, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, France, Germany and other major European and Middle Eastern nations.
