Dr. Tutul Chakravarti, MBBS DO DNB ICO PG Diploma in Epidemiology is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataract, and Glaucoma. She has undergone extensive training starting with learning small incision cataract surgery from Arvind eye Hospitals, Madurai, Tamilnadu (1994 and 2003). She started her Ophthalmology career as a cataract surgeon in premier eye hospitals in Kolkata like Peerless, AMRI, and Wockhardt. She also served Venu Eye Institute in New Delhi as a consultant in general ophthalmology (2003-2004). She has been awarded the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship in 2005 at Imperial College at Charing Cross campus, London in Neuro-ophthalmology. She had undergone two glaucoma research Fellowships. The first was done under the supervision of Professor George L Spaeth in Wills Eye Hospital in 2006 and the second one in Rotterdam Eye Institute, Rotterdam, Netherlands under Professor Hans G Lemi ( 2009-2010). She is also the recipient of DST (Department of Science & Technology, Government of India) Research Grant for her Glaucoma Project on West Bengal (2014-2016) as the Principal Investigator. As an active researcher, she has also undertaken courses on Research Methodology and has completed her PG diploma in Epidemiology from PHFI. Dr. Chakravarti has published a few peer-reviewed articles in major academic journals like Journal of Glaucoma, Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology and Journal of Current Glaucoma Practice. She served MAX EYE CARE (Panchsheel) and MAX MSSH in New Delhi as a Glaucoma Consultant. Dr. Chakravarti was associated with Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad (IIPHH) as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2014 for their Diabetic Retinopathy Project. Currently, she works in Kolkata as a glaucoma consultant in Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), a Post-Graduate teaching Hospital. Dr. Chakravarti is the Founder & Secretary of Eye & Glaucoma Care, a charitable TRUST, located in Kolkata, devoted to promoting glaucoma awareness and to improve glaucoma screening and management. She has been a National Faculty in Glaucoma Society of India (GSI). She has been regularly presenting as invited faculty in National and International glaucoma fora like WGC, SEAGIG, APGC, DOS, AIOC. This year she has presented her poster in ARVO, Seattle, USA. She holds membership in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS).
