About Sercos-VT Tablet

SERTACONAZOLE contains imidazole antifungal sertaconazole nitrate, SERTACONAZOLE is primarily used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as athlete's foot (Tinea pedis), jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal skin infections. Besides this, SERTACONAZOLE also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (flaking or scaling of the skin).

SERTACONAZOLE works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection. SERTACONAZOLE destroys the fungi by allowing the holes to open in the cell membrane and the components to leak out. This kills the fungus and prevents the infection.

SERTACONAZOLE is widely used to treat various fungal infections of the skin due to specific fungi (e.g. Trichophyton species) and certain yeasts (e.g. Candida species) by destroying its cell membrane.

Directions for Use

SERTACONAZOLE should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 – 3 times daily and rubbed in gently with a cotton swab or gauze pad. If the feet are infected, they should be thoroughly washed and dried, especially between the toes, before applying the cream. Strictly do not use SERTACONAZOLE for the eye (ophthalmic), oral, or intravaginal use.

Side Effects of Sercos-VT Tablet

Every medicine has some sort of side effects. In the beginning days of the treatment with SERTACONAZOLE, you may suffer from redness, itching, dry skin, burning, blistering, swelling, drainage and skin tenderness at the treated skin areas. But these would be temporary and may be relieved after some time. However, if you still have discomfort speak with the doctor. Allergic reaction (cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions) such as rashes, itching and swelling may occur in rare cases which is serious and can lead to a life-threatening condition. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.
