LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE belongs to a group of gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE is a combination of two drugs: Lafutidine (H2 receptor antagonist) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Lafutidine works by blocking histamine H2 receptors located on the stomach lining, thereby reduces gastric acid secretion. Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscles.

Directions for Use

Take LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE 30-60 minutes prior to food. Swallow LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or crush the tablet. Depending on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE.

Drug Warnings

Do not take LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. Do not take LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol along with LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid. The LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE contains lafutidine which may mask gastric cancer symptoms, so LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE should be taken only after confirming the tumour is not malignant.

LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE may have interaction with antifungals (ketoconazole, fluconazole, posaconazole), medication for HIV/AIDS (saquinavir, darunavir), medication for heart diseases (bepridil), allergy medication (terfenadine), antimalarial medication (piperaquine) and antibiotic (sparfloxacin)

Drug-Disease Interaction:

LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE may have interactions with gastrointestinal bleeding, pituitary (brain) tumour, hemodialysis, liver, and kidney dysfunction.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

• Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increases acidity and heartburn.

PREGNANCY

• Consult your doctor before taking LAFUTIDINE+DOMPERIDONE if you are pregnant; your doctor will prescribe only if the benefits outweigh the risks.

BREAST FEEDING

DRIVING
