Medicinal Benefits of Halovin-S Ointment
HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID is a combination of two medicines: Halobetasol and Salicylic acid. Halobetasol belongs to the class of corticosteroids and it has anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers that cause the skin to become red, swollen, and itchy). Salicylic acid enhances the absorption of Halobetasol. It is a keratolytic medicine (softens, separates, and peels the horny layer of skin), which breaks down the clumps of keratin, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It is also an anti-inflammatory and topical antibacterial agent.
Directions for Use
HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID is available in the form of cream or ointment. Cream/ointment: Gently rinse the affected area with saline or water before applying HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID. Pat the skin and dry it with a clean cotton towel. Apply a generous amount of HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID and spread it evenly on the affected areas of the skin to form a 1/8-inch thick layer with clean and dry hands. You can also apply HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. Wash your hands before and after using HALOBETASOL+SALICYLIC ACID on the affected areas unless the treatment is for hands.
