About Ganzol 2mg Tablet

STANOZOLOL belongs to the class 'anabolic steroids' used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema. It is a rare genetic condition characterized by recurrent episodes of severe swelling (angioedema). Most common areas of the body to develop swelling are the limbs, face, intestinal tract and airway. Minor trauma or stress may trigger an attack, but swelling often occurs without a known trigger.

STANOZOLOL contains stanozolol, a synthetic anabolic steroid (a man-made steroid, similar to the a naturally occurring steroid testosterone). STANOZOLOL works by reducing the release of a chemical called bradykinin (peptide, that promotes inflammation), which is responsible for breaking and leakage of blood vessels. This damage to blood vessels leads to sudden accumulation of fluids below the skin causing swelling (edema) as well as redness. By this way STANOZOLOL blocks the action of bradykinin and treats angioedema.

Directions for Use

Take STANOZOLOL as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take STANOZOLOL for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Swallow it as a whole with glass full of water. Do not chew, crush or break it. STANOZOLOL may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

STANOZOLOL may interact with medicines like antibiotics (amoxicillin), blood thinners ( warfarin, heparin, aspirin), anti diabetes (tolbutamide, glimepiride) benzodiazepines (alprazolam, lorazepam), sedative (zolpidem), anti-Hiv (abacavir, lamivudine).

Safety Advice

LIVER

STANOZOLOL should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is necessary while taking this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative medicine may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment.

KIDNEY

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of kidney function tests, appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative medicine may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient
