About Drofine-DS Tablet
DROTAVERINE belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents used to reduce and relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and gall bladder.
DROTAVERINE contains 'Drotaverine' which works by relieving contractions associated with smooth muscles of the abdomen. Thereby, helping in relieving pain.
You can take DROTAVERINE with or without food. Take DROTAVERINE as prescribed. You are advised to take DROTAVERINE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and vertigo (spinning sensation). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Consult your doctor before taking DROTAVERINE if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Do not take DROTAVERINE if you are breastfeeding. DROTAVERINE may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. DROTAVERINE should not be given to children below 1 year as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with DROTAVERINE as it could lead to increased dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.

DROTAVERINE belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents. DROTAVERINE is used to reduce and relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and gall bladder. DROTAVERINE works by relieving contractions associated with smooth muscles of the abdomen. DROTAVERINE inhibits phosphodiesterase-IV which is specific for smooth muscle. It has direct and rapid action on the smooth muscles. DROTAVERINE corrects the cyclic AMP and calcium imbalance at the spastic site. Thereby relieving pain and muscle spasms.
Directions for Use
Take DROTAVERINE with or without food. Based on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take DROTAVERINE. Tablet: Swallow DROTAVERINE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. Liquid: Take the prescribed dose/quantity using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the bottle well before each use. Injection: A healthcare professional will administer it; do not self-administer.
