The Shroffs have been pioneers in the field of professional eye care in northern India. The foundation for excellence in eye care was laid by Dr. S. P. Shroff, fellow of the royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Who started Ophthalmological work in Delhi in 1914.
