ISOTRETINOIN belongs to a class of drugs called retinoids (man-made vitamin A) primarily used to treat a severe form of acne known as nodular acne that cannot be cleared by any other treatments, including antibiotics. Nodular acne is severe acne and occurs due to excessive production of oil in the skin cells, causing swollen, red and tender lumps in the skin. Acne nodules are larger in size than typical pimples.

Medicinal Benefits of Ocotret 20mg Tablet

ISOTRETINOIN is a human-made, or synthetic form of vitamin A used to treat a severe form of acne. ISOTRETINOIN reduces sebum (skin’s natural oil) production cells in the skin’s surface by decreasing the activity and size of sebaceous glands. Thereby unblocks pores and kills acne-causing bacteria. Also, ISOTRETINOIN reduces swelling in the skin and helps in treating various types of cancer.

Directions for Use

Orally: If you are prescribed ISOTRETINOIN in oral form, swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Take ISOTRETINOIN with food to avoid stomach upset. Do not break, crush or chew it. Topically: Use ISOTRETINOIN as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after applying ISOTRETINOIN. Before using it, try to clean and dry the affected skin area. Wash the face with mild soap and pat the skin dry. Take a small amount of ISOTRETINOIN on the fingertip and apply as a thin film on the clean and dry affected area.
