About Mucopain Gel

BENZOCAINE belongs to a group of medicines called 'local anaesthesia' used to reduce pain and discomfort associated with mouth ulcers, canker sores, mouth irritation, minor skin irritations, sore throat, vaginal or rectal irritation, sunburn, haemorrhoids (piles), and ingrown toenails. 

BENZOCAINE contains 'Benzocaine' that blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby numbs the area and provides relief from pain. BENZOCAINE numb the skin or surfaces in the mouth, throat, nose, vagina or rectum to lessen the pain during insertion of a medical instrument such as tube or speculum during colonoscopy or endoscopy.

BENZOCAINE blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby numbs the area and provides relief from pain. BENZOCAINE is used to numb the skin or surfaces in the mouth, throat, nose, vagina or rectum to lessen the pain during insertion of a medical instrument such as tube or speculum.

Directions for Use

Topical: The topical form of BENZOCAINE is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area. Take a pea-sized amount onto your finger and apply it directly onto the affected area. If BENZOCAINE comes in contact with eyes rinse with water immediately. Wash your hands before and after using BENZOCAINE. Lozenges: Place BENZOCAINE in mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly; do not chew, crush or swallow. Liquid: Take the prescribed dose/quantity using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before use.

In-Depth Precautions and Warning

Drug Warnings

Do not use BENZOCAINE if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you have/had methemoglobinemia (high levels of methaemoglobin). Inform your doctor before taking BENZOCAINE if you have/had glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, asthma, bronchitis, breathing disorder, lung, heart, kidney or liver disease. BENZOCAINE may cause methemoglobinemia (high levels of methaemoglobin); this risk is increased in people with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, lung and heart problems. Consult your doctor before using BENZOCAINE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use BENZOCAINE in more than prescribed doses, or on a large skin area for a longer duration. BENZOCAINE is not recommended for children below 12 years. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve despite using BENZOCAINE for a week. 

Drug-Drug Interaction:

BENZOCAINE may have interaction with pain killers (acetaminophen) and antibiotic (cotrimoxazole).
