CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN helps lower the blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of heart problems such as heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness, and dyspnea (shortness of breath). However, most of the time, the signs and symptoms of hypertension are none.

CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN contains Chlorthalidone, Telmisartan, and Metoprolol succinate. CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN is used to treat hypertension. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that lowers blood pressure and swelling by removing excess fluid and electrolytes via urine. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker that works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, thereby relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that slows down the heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Together, CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN helps treat hypertension. CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN helps lower the blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of heart problems such as heart attack and stroke.

Directions for Use

Take CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN with or without food. Swallow CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN as a whole with a glass of water; do not crush, break or chew the tablet. Based on your medical condition, your doctor will advise for how long you need to take CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN.

Do not take CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN if you are allergic to any of its contents. CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Rise slowly from lying/sitting position as CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN may cause dizziness (orthostatic hypotension).

CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN may have interaction with medicines such as anti-hypertensive (aliskiren), anti-depressant (duloxetine), painkiller (aspirin), anti-convulsant (pregabalin), anti-diabetic (insulin glargine), diuretic (furosemide), hormone (levothyroxine), benzodiazepine (alprazolam), vitamin (ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN may have interactions with disease conditions such as diabetes, renal dysfunction (kidney disease), pulmonary disease, ischemic heart disease, hypotension (low blood pressure) and liver disease.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Avoid or limit consumption of alcohol while taking CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN as it might cause increased dizziness.

PREGNANCY

Please consult your doctor before taking CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN if you are pregnant; your doctor will prescribe only if the benefits outweigh the risks. CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN should be discontinued during the second and third trimester of pregnancy as it might affect the developing foetus.

BREAST FEEDING

Please consult your doctor; your doctor will decide whether CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN can be taken by breastfeeding mothers or not.

DRIVING

CHLORTHALIDONE+METOPROLOL SUCCINATE+TELMISARTAN may cause dizziness, do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.
