About Koxilex-TH Tablet

ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE belongs to a group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, chronic low back pain, and muscle spasms. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body. Muscle spasm is the sudden involuntary contractions of the muscle, which can be painful and uncomfortable.

ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE is a combination of two drugs: Etoricoxib (NSAID) and Thiocolchicoside (Muscle relaxant). Etoricoxib blocks the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes other chemical prostaglandins (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Thiocolchicoside works on the centers of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relieve muscle stiffness and improves muscle movements, thereby helping relieve pain due to muscle spasms.

You can take ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE with or without food. Swallow ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE as a whole with water, do not crush or chew the tablet. You are advised to take ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as flatulence, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, and swelling of your hands and feet. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not take ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE. ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE may cause sleepiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with ETORICOXIB+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE as it could lead to increased dizziness, it might also increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
