HYALURONIC ACID belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) primarily taken for reducing the pain of osteoarthritis (OA) in specific large and small joints. Osteoarthritis is a chronic (lifelong) joint condition in which sodium hyaluronate concentration (a lubricant between joints) gets reduced. When Hyaluronic acid gets reduces, it causes the friction between the bones leading to wear and tear (damage) of the joint tissues leading to pain, stiffness, inflammation and reduced locomotion.
