Clop Lotion
PRODUCT DETAILS
About Clop Lotion
CLOBETASOL contains clobetasol, which is a topical corticosteroid. It is used for the treatment of auto-immune skin disorders such as psoriasis (scaly, itchy, and red patches on the skin), lichen planus (purplish, itchy, and flat bumps on the wrists, forearms, or legs), discoid lupus erythematosus (red, coin-shaped scales or crusts on the scalp, cheeks, and ears), and eczema (red and itchy skin). Autoimmune skin disorders are conditions in which immune cells attack the healthy cells of the body, causing inflammation. CLOBETASOL can suppress the immune system and reduce inflammation.
CLOBETASOL is available only for topical use in various forms including cream, ointment, and shampoo. Your doctor will advise you which dosage form of clobetasol is suitable based on the infected place. And also suggested how often you need to take CLOBETASOL based on your medical condition. While applying, make sure it does not come in contact with the eye. In case CLOBETASOL comes in contact with eyes accidentally, rinse with warm water thoroughly. Please do not use it on unaffected areas or for other skin infections without informing your doctor.
Common side-effects of CLOBETASOL are burning or stinging sensation in the eye, itching, redness, dryness, and swelling of the skin at the site of application. Long-term use of CLOBETASOL may have an effect on the adrenal gland and cause abnormal effects. It may also vision problems in some cases.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to clobetasol or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine. Do not use CLOBETASOL in children under 12 years of age without a doctor’s advice. Do not use CLOBETASOL to treat acne, rosacea (facial flushing on and around the nose), perioral dermatitis (red or scaly rashes around the mouth), anogenital pruritis (itching around the anus or genitals), itchy, broken, or infected skin which is not inflamed, and widespread plaque psoriasis (except single lesions).
Uses of Clop Lotion
Autoimmune skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus, and discoid lupus erythematosus
Medicinal Benefits of Clop Lotion
The skin gets inflamed when chemical mediators release chemicals into the skin that cause inflammation. It leads to rashes, swelling, and itching, which can be treated by CLOBETASOL. It targets the immune system and lowers the immune response, providing some time for the inflamed skin to heal.
Directions for Use
CLOBETASOL is available only for external use. Wash your hands before and after applying the medication. Also, clean and dry the affected area before applying the medication. Cream or ointment: Take the prescribed amount of CLOBETASOL cream or ointment and gently rub it on the affected area. Do not use other creams or moisturizers at the same time. If you are using plaster or bandage for dressing at the site of application, wait at least 10 min after applying the medication. Shampoo: Take the recommended amount of shampoo on the dry scalp and leave it for about 15 minutes. Do not cover the scalp with a shower cap. Then, rinse the hair thoroughly with water.
Side Effects of Clop Lotion
Unfortunately, like all other medicines, CLOBETASOL also may cause some side effects including burning or stinging sensation in the eye, itching, dryness, swelling, irritation, or redness at the application site, or red bumps filled with pus may occur after the initial treatment. These side effects improve when the body adjusts to the medication. If the condition doesn’t improve, talk to your doctor immediately. Long-term use of CLOBETASOL may result in skin thinning, acne, allergic reaction, hair growth, permanent stretch marks at the site of application, and folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles), if applied on the scalp. In rare cases, CLOBETASOL may enter the bloodstream from the skin. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience unusual or extreme fatigue or vision disturbances.

In-Depth Precautions and Warning
Drug Warnings
Inform your doctor before using CLOBETASOL, if you have previously had an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity) with another steroid. If there is an overdose, clean the area thoroughly and re-apply the medicine. Apply the medication carefully if you are using it on the eyelids or near the eyes, as there is a risk of cataracts or glaucoma if the drug enters the eye frequently. CLOBETASOL can enter the skin easily and may cause skin thinning because of repeated application. So, apply it carefully when using it on broken or damaged skin and large surface areas of skin. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience vision problems or any other abnormal signs. Do not use CLOBETASOL at the same time as other creams or ointments such as a moisturizer. Wait at least 30 minutes between using clobetasol and any other product.
