About Childryl Syrup

PHOLCODINE+PROMETHAZINE is an antitussive (prevent or relieve a cough) agent containing Promethazine and Pholcodine, primarily taken for the treatment of dry cough and allergic symptoms. Promethazine is an anti-allergic that blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible to trigger cough due to allergy. Pholcodine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain. Dry cough, no mucus or phlegm (inflammation in the sinuses and the lungs) is produced with the cough.  Cough can be caused by allergies or throat irritants, and viral illnesses such as colds and flu. Allergy is the immune system response to foreign elements typically not harmful to the body. It is caused by foreign elements known as 'allergens'.

The combination of drugs containing Promethazine and Pholcodine is primarily taken to get relief from drug cough, and allergic symptoms. Promethazine is an H1antagonist that blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible to trigger cough due to allergy. On the other hand, Pholcodine is a cough suppressant that suppresses cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain.

PHOLCODINE+PROMETHAZINE should be taken as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with a meal to avoid stomach upset and at fixed intervals every day for best results. The dose of PHOLCODINE+PROMETHAZINE can vary depending upon your condition don’t stop taking $ name without your doctor's advice. It is advised to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to overcome dry mouth and extreme thirst.

In some cases, you may experience nausea, vomiting, constipation, sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, and breathlessness. Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

PREGNANCY

DRIVING

PHOLCODINE+PROMETHAZINE is not recommended in patients with chronic kidney disease (severe renal impairment). The safety and effectiveness in patients with severe renal impairment have not been established.
