About Alkof Q Tablet

BROMHEXINE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE is a respiratory medication used to treat a cough with mucus, stuffy nose, sinus congestion, and chest congestion caused by the common cold. Coughing occurs as a reflex action in the throat when there is mucus or any other foreign irritant in it. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects nose and throat and is caused by viruses known as 'rhinoviruses'. The virus enters the body through nose, mouth or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs or talks.

Uses of Alkof Q Tablet

Cough with mucus

Medicinal Benefits of Alkof Q Tablet

BROMHEXINE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE treats cough with mucus, chest congestion and common cold symptoms. It consists of three medicines: Guaifenesin, Bromhexine, and Phenylephrine. Guaifenesin is an 'expectorant' works by reducing bronchial secretions' thickness or viscosity (phlegm). It loosens congestion in your chest and throat, making it easier to cough out through the mouth. Bromhexine is a 'mucolytic agent' that relieves productive cough. It works by thinning the mucus in the airways and makes it easier to cough out. Phenylephrine is a ‘decongestant’ that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. Thus, BROMHEXINE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE helps relieve cough symptoms in respiratory infection, asthma, COPD, common cold, and allergies.
