About Vertinet Tablet
CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE belongs to a group of anti-vertigo drugs used to treat the symptoms of vertigo such as dizziness, spinning sensation, nausea, and vomiting. CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE can help you to carry out daily activities that are difficult when you have vertigo. Vertigo is a sudden external or internal spinning sensation that causes dizziness. It creates a false sense that you or your surroundings are moving or spinning.
CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE is a combination of two drugs: Cinnarizine (calcium antagonist) and Dimenhydrinate (antihistamine). Cinnarizine prevents the narrowing of the blood vessels in the ear; this improves the blood flow in the ear. Dimenhydrinate works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger known as histamine, thereby preventing problems with loss of balance. Together, CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE helps in reducing the symptoms of vertigo.
Take CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE with food. Swallow CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. You are advised to take CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as drowsiness, dry mouth, stomach pain, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE may cause drowsiness and sleepiness, so drive only if you are alert. CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE is not recommended for children below 18 years as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with CINNARIZINE+DIMENHYDRINATE as it could lead to increased drowsiness. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and health conditions to rule out unpleasant side effects.
