About Toplift D 50mg Tablet
DESVENLAFAXINE belongs to a group of medications called 'antidepressants' used to treat a major depressive disorder (depression). Major depressive disorder, also known as clinical depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistent and intense loneliness.
DESVENLAFAXINE contains ‘desvenlafaxine, which works by increasing the levels of certain chemical messengers (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain. This maintains mental balance and helps in regulating mood and treating depression.
Take DESVENLAFAXINE with or without food. Swallow DESVENLAFAXINE as a whole with a glass of water, do not chew, or crush the tablet. You are advised to take DESVENLAFAXINE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition and response to the treatment. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, dizziness, insomnia (sleep problems), constipation, sleepiness, loss of appetite, anxiety, and male sexual dysfunction disorders. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Please do not stop taking DESVENLAFAXINE suddenly as it might cause withdrawal symptoms. Consult your doctor immediately if you have suicidal thoughts such as killing or harming yourself. Do not take DESVENLAFAXINE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. DESVENLAFAXINE may cause sleepiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. DESVENLAFAXINE should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with DESVENLAFAXINE as it could lead to increased sleepiness and dizziness. Drug Warnings
Do not take DESVENLAFAXINE if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you are taking linezolid, intravenous methylene blue, other serotonergic agents, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO), or have taken them in the last 14 days. Inform your doctor before taking DESVENLAFAXINE if you have heart problems, hypotension, bipolar disorder, glaucoma, epilepsy, lung or breathing problems, bleeding problems, or low sodium levels in the blood. Consult your doctor immediately if you have suicidal thoughts such as killing or harming yourself. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking DESVENLAFAXINE for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Please do not stop taking DESVENLAFAXINE suddenly as it might cause withdrawal symptoms. Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction:
DESVENLAFAXINE may have interaction with antipsychotics (aripiprazole, lurasidone, quetiapine), CNS stimulants (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, phentermine, lisdexamfetamine), an antidepressant (amitriptyline, bupropion, duloxetine, escitalopram, sertraline, trazodone, venlafaxine), anti-convulsant (clonazepam, lamotrigine, pregabalin), skeletal muscle relaxant (cyclobenzaprine), pain killer (ibuprofen, tramadol), anti-anxiety (alprazolam), an antihistamine (cetirizine).
Drug-Disease Interaction:
DESVENLAFAXINE may have interactions with disease conditions such as depression, urinary tract obstruction, glaucoma, high blood pressure, seizures, renal disease, mania, and hyponatremia (low levels of sodium).
Safety Advice
ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking DESVENLAFAXINE as it may cause increased sleepiness and dizziness.
PREGNANCY
DESVENLAFAXINE belongs to pregnancy category C. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy, your doctor will prescribe only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
BREAST FEEDING
DESVENLAFAXINE may pass into breastmilk. Consult your doctor before taking DESVENLAFAXINE your doctor will decide whether DESVENLAFAXINE can be taken by breastfeeding mothers or not.
DRIVING
DESVENLAFAXINE causes sleepiness and dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these symptoms.
LIVER

KIDNEY
