About Ticstop Tablet
TETRABENAZINE is in a class of medications called vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) inhibitors. Huntington's disease causes sudden shaky, jerky, irregular muscle movements that cannot be controlled. TETRABENAZINE reduces the amount of certain chemicals that are overactive in the body, causing these uncontrollable muscle movements. You can take this TETRABENAZINE with or without food. Inform your doctor before you stop taking this TETRABENAZINE as its usage cannot be discontinued suddenly. Do not take this TETRABENAZINE in larger or smaller amounts than recommended by your doctor. Incase if you forget or miss a dose, do not take up the extra TETRABENAZINE. If you miss the dose for more than five days in a row, talk to your doctor before restarting again. The common side effects of the TETRABENAZINE include difficulty in breathing, swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat, decreased appetite, difficulty speaking, nausea, vomiting, pain or burning upon urination. Report to your doctor if you notice any new or worsening symptoms like trouble sleeping, restlessness, feeling more depressed having self-destruction and suicidal thoughts. Call your doctor immediately if you notice lip-smacking, difficulty swallowing, fast heartbeats, tongue movement, blinking or eye movement.

Chorea (sudden movements that you cannot control) associated with Huntington's disease.
Medicinal Benefits of Ticstop Tablet
Overactive secretion of chemicals like serotonin, nor epinephrine, and dopamine in the brain causes degeneration of nerves due to which you may lose the ability to control your thoughts, emotions, or movements. This TETRABENAZINE works by reducing the overactivity of these natural substances in the brain that transmits signals between the nerves and in turn, lowers brain signals that trigger involuntary muscle movements.
Directions for Use
Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water or any other non-alcoholic drink before a meal or at the end. Start the dose by taking one pill a day at first and then increase to twice a day a week later.
Side Effects of Ticstop Tablet
Although not everyone gets them, the possible side effects that you may experience are drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, sleeplessness, constipation, confusion. When taken in higher doses, you may experience depression. Very rarely, you may start to have mental changes such as confusion or hallucinations or develop stiffness in your muscles. If you experience any of the side effects talk to your doctor and seek the required medical help, thereby ensuring the safety of the medicine.

Drug-Drug Interaction:
Care should be exercised when TETRABENAZINE is administered in combination with MAO inhibitors (isocarboxazid, linezolid, rasagiline, selegiline, methylene blue injection), antipsychotic medicine or mental/mood conditions (quetiapine, olanzapine, escitalopram, haloperidol, clozapine), to avoid serious drug interactions.
Safety Advice
ALCOHOL
It causes excessive sleepiness if you consume alcohol while taking this TETRABENAZINE.
DRIVING
It causes drowsiness and impairs your ability to drive carefully.
LIVER
If you have a history of liver disease/conditions, TETRABENAZINE should be taken with caution.
KIDNEY
If you have a history of kidney diseases, TETRABENAZINE should be taken with caution.
