About Sparot 20mg/500mg Tablet
DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL is a combination drug primarily used in the treatment of Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and abdominal cramps occurring due to dysmenorrhea (painful irregular periods). It is composed of dicyclomine and paracetamol primarily used to reduce pain caused due to IBD and dysmenorrhoea (irregular periods/menses). Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) refers to a broad term used for inflammation of the digestive system. Its symptoms vary depending on the severity of inflammation. IBD's most common symptoms are Diarrhea, Fatigue, Abdominal pain and cramping, blood in your stool, Reduced appetite, and Unintended weight loss. Inflammation is a localized physical condition in which part of the body becomes reddened, swollen, hot, and often painful, especially as a reaction to injury or infection. Dysmenorrhea (Abdominal cramps) is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with irregular periods. It occurs just before or during menses.
DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL is composed of two medicines: Dicyclomine (antispasmodic) and Paracetamol (analgesic). DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL helps in relieving spasmodic pain and discomfort due to biliary colic, intestinal colic, renal colic, and spasmodic dysmenorrhea (painful irregular menses/periods). Paracetamol has both analgesic (pain reducer) and antipyretic (fever reducer) properties which decreases inflammation caused due to IBD. Dicyclomine helps in blocking the activity of certain natural substances in the body that respond to cause pain. Together, they effectively reduce the pain.
DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL should be swallowed whole with liquid, preferably with or after meals as, it helps to prevent any potential gastric irritation the drug might cause when taken empty stomach. DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL is generally safe to consume. Some people may experience dizziness, nausea (feeling sick), digestion problems (constipation, flatulence, diarrhea), and skin reactions (like rashes, and hives). Most of the side effects of DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Taking more than the daily prescribed dose of DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL may cause liver damage or allergic reactions like swelling of the mouth, face, throat, difficulty in breathing, skin rash, or itching. Most cases of liver injury are associated with the use of paracetamol at doses that exceed 4 gm per day. Gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcer formation are commonly observed with the help of DICYCLOMINE+PARACETAMOL, so the doctor may prescribe you the lowest dose available.
