About Rabitus M 20mg/15mg Capsule

MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE belongs to a group of gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is also used to treat acidity, indigestion, heartburn, and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (esophagus); this causes acidity and heartburn. Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE is a combination of two drugs: Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Mosapride (prokinetic agent). Rabeprazole works by blocking an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for acid production. Mosapride works by accelerating the gastric emptying time, increasing the food pipe, intestine, and stomach's movement. It also increases the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter pressure, thereby preventing the backflow of food and acid into the mouth. Together, MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE helps prevent acid reflux, thereby providing relief from dyspepsia (indigestion and abdominal pain), acidity, and heartburn.

Take MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE one-hour prior to food. You are advised to take MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, flatulence, headache, dizziness, weakness, sleepiness, and flu-like symptoms. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. On long-term treatment, MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE may cause osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist, spine, and hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels). Do not take MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE should not be given to children as safety has not been established. MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol and MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and elevate stomach acid production.

Medicinal Benefits of Rabitus M 20mg/15mg Capsule

MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE belongs to a group of gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE is a combination of two drugs: Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Mosapride (prokinetic agent). Mosapride works by accelerating the gastric emptying time and increasing the food pipe, intestine, and stomach movement. It also increases the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter pressure, thereby preventing the backflow of food and acid into the mouth. Besides this, it also facilitates intestine movement, thereby increasing the frequency of bowel movements, softening stools, and reducing abdominal discomfort and pain. Mosapride enhanced the acid inhibitory effect of PPIs such as Rabeprazole. Collectively, MOSAPRIDE+RABEPRAZOLE helps prevent acid reflux, thereby providing relief from acidity, heartburn, and dyspepsia (indigestion and abdominal pain).
