About Hylac Tablet

HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents used to relieve abdominal cramps that cause pain and discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Additionally, HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE is also used to treat stomach pain, intestinal cramps, bladder cramps, and period pain. Irritable bowel syndrome is a gastrointestinal disorder that mainly affects the large intestine.

HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents. HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE is used to relieve abdominal cramps that cause pain and discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Besides this, HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE is also used to treat stomach pain, intestinal cramps, bladder cramps, and period pain. HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE stops the muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Thereby provides relief from cramps, discomfort, and pain.

Directions for Use

Take HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE with or without food. Based on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE. Tablet: Swallow HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or break the tablet. Injection: The injection form of HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Suppository: Insert the narrow end of the suppository into the rectum, gently push it in.

Drug Warnings

Do not take HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE if you are allergic to any of its contents if you have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis (muscle problems), blockage of the bowel, paralytic/obstructive ileus, or enlarged bowel. Inform your doctor before taking HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE if you have severe constipation, blood in stools, loss of appetite, difficulty passing urine, fever, fast heart rate, severe sweating problem, or if you are 40years or above. Do not take HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE may cause blurred vision, so drive only if you are alert. HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE is not recommended for children below 6years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE should not be given to children below 12years for treating irritable bowel syndrome. Stop taking HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE and consult your doctor immediately if you observe blood in stools, changes in bowel movements, abdominal tenderness, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and fever.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction:

HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE may have interaction with anti-emetic (domperidone, metoclopramide), bronchodilator (salbutamol), anti-arrhythmic (quinidine, disopyramide), anti-Parkinson (amantadine), anti-cholinergic (tiotropium, ipratropium), anti-psychotic (haloperidol, fluphenazine), opiate analgesic (codeine), anti-depressant (amitriptyline), and antihistamines. 

Drug-Disease Interaction:

HYOSCINE BUTYL BROMIDE may have interactions with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis (muscle problems), blockage of the bowel, paralytic/obstructive ileus, and enlarged bowel.
