About Frumil Tablet
Furosemide+Amiloride is used in the treatment of Edema. Furosemide + Amiloride is a combination of two medicines: Furosemide and Amiloride. They act on different parts of your kidney to remove extra water and certain electrolytes while maintaining the potassium balance in your body.
Uses of Frumil Tablet
Hypertension (high blood pressure) and Oedema (fluid retention).
Medicinal Benefits of Frumil Tablet
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE prevents the build-up of extra water in the body and treats hypertension (high blood pressure) and oedema (fluid retention). AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE is a combination of medicine that consists of Furosemide and Amiloride. Furosemide is a 'loop diuretic' that treats high blood pressure, fluid retention (oedema) in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease or nephrotic syndrome (a kidney disease). Amiloride is a 'potassium-sparing diuretic' and treats hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood) in people with high blood pressure or congestive heart failure. AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE works by acting on different parts of the kidney to remove extra fluid and certain electrolytes while maintaining the body's potassium balance. AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE clears the excess fluids in the body in the form of urine.
Directions for Use
Take the tablet of AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE with or without food or as directed by your physician. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Try to take it at a fixed time every day. Do not double the dose if missed.

In-Depth Precautions and Warning
Drug Warnings
Do not use AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE if you are allergic to AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE or any of its components. Please inform your doctor if you are using any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, before starting AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE. Let your doctor know if you have any untreated salt/mineral imbalance (high potassium, low sodium level), kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, dehydration, gout, hearing loss, Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency), dehydration and lupus (an autoimmune disease of tissues). Therapy with loop diuretics should be administered cautiously in patients with diabetes mellitus, glucose intolerance, or a history of hyperglycemia (high glucose levels) since Furosemide affects your blood sugar levels.
It is essential to let your doctor know if you are a breastfeeding mother before using AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE since it may pass into the breast milk. AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE is not recommended during pregnancy since it may cause harmful effects on the baby. AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE can increase the chances of light-headedness so rise slowly if you are sitting/lying and avoid operating any machine or doing any work that needs mental alertness. Furosemide in AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE may reduce the potassium levels in your blood. It is recommended to add potassium-rich foods, such as bananas, orange juice to your diet. Reduce table salt intake in your foods, which plays a significant role in blood pressure and fluid build-up in the body.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction:
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE may interact with other diuretics (eplerenone, triamterene, spironolactone, hydrochlorothiazide), respiratory drugs (fluticasone, salmeterol, albuterol), anti-depressants (lithium, duloxetine, escitalopram), drugs treating heart failure (digoxin, sotalol), anti-hypertensive drugs (benazepril, valsartan, losartan, lisinopril, captopril, ramipril, metoprolol), corticosteroids (prednisone), painkillers (ibuprofen, naproxen, oxycodone), arthritis drugs (meloxicam), diabetic drugs (Insulin glargine), immunosuppressants (tacrolimus, cyclosporine) and birth control medication (drospirenone)
Drug-Disease Interaction:
Before using AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE, let your doctor know if have salt/mineral imbalance (high potassium, low sodium level), kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, dehydration, gout, hearing loss, Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency), dehydration and lupus (an autoimmune disease of tissues).
Safety Advice
ALCOHOL
Alcohol may lower your blood pressure. It would help if you avoided or limit consuming alcohol whilst taking AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE
PREGNANCY
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE is not recommended during pregnancy since it may cause harmful effects on the baby. However, it is advised to seek medical advice before using AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE if you plan to conceive or pregnant.
BREAST FEEDING
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE may pass into the breast milk during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor before using AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE if you are a lactating mother.
DRIVING
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE may cause side effects due to lowering of the blood pressure such as dizziness or tiredness. If you feel dizzy or tired when taking this medicine, do not drive or use any tools or machines.
LIVER
Let your doctor know if you have any history of liver diseases before using AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE. AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE is to be administered with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
KIDNEY
AMILORIDE+FUROSEMIDE to be taken with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. Your doctor may adjust your dose depending upon your current kidney conditions.
