LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE helps in decreasing the chance of developing AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate used to treat HIV infection. Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, whereas Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE interferes with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Together, LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE helps in treating HIV infection. Taking LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE along with practising safe sex and lifestyle changes may reduce the risk of getting or transmitting HIV to others.

Directions for Use

Take LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE with food as prescribed by your doctor. The tablet form of LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it.

LAMIVUDINE+TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE may have interaction with the antifungal drug (amphotericin B), antiviral (foscarnet, ganciclovir, cidofovir), medicines used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection (adefovir dipivoxil), immunosuppressant (tacrolimus), antibiotics (pentamidine, vancomycin), anti-cancer (interleukin-2)
