About Cizaspa-X Tablet

CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE belongs to a class of drugs called 'antispasmodics' primarily used to treat painful stomach cramps in the condition of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with bloating. Irritable bowel syndrome is a common disease that affects the large intestine. IBS is also known as spastic colon, irritable colon, spastic colitis, and mucous colitis. An irritable bowel syndrome is a group of intestinal symptoms that occur together.

Medicinal Benefits of Cizaspa-X Tablet

CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE is a combination of two drugs: Mebeverine and Chlordiazepoxide to treat symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and painful stomach cramps. Mebeverine belongs to the class of antispasmodics that works by relieving contractions associated with smooth muscles of the stomach and intestine. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine that increases GABA (nerve-calming agent) activity in the brain and decreases nerve cells' the abnormal active cells. Thereby relaxes muscles and reduces anxiety caused due to painful stomach cramps. 

Directions for Use

Use CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE as prescribed by a doctor. Take CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE on an empty stomach preferably 20 minutes before a meal and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

Drug Warnings

If you are known to be allergic to CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE is not recommended for children below 18 years of age, as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Avoid taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy as it may cause congenital disabilities (congenital disabilities). CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE may be excreted in breast milk. Therefore, avoid taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE if you are breastfeeding. CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE should be used with caution in the elderly as it may cause confusion in them. Do not take CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE for longer than the prescribed period as it may cause dependence. Please do not stop taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE on your own as it might cause withdrawal symptoms. If you cannot digest or tolerate any sugars, please tell your doctor as CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE contains sucrose and lactose. If you have vaginal bleeding or discharge, difficulty in urination, fever, constipation, blood in stools, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, manic depression, sleep apnoea (breathing stops and repeatedly starts during sleep), spinal or cerebral ataxia, kidney or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE.

Drug Interactions


Drug-Drug Interaction:

 CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE may have interaction with medications including pain killers (codeine, morphine), blood thinner (warfarin), benzodiazepine (diazepam), anticonvulsants (phenobarbitone, phenytoin), antibiotics (rifampicin), muscle relaxant (baclofen), antiparkinson drug (levodopa), antacids (cimetidine, omeprazole), heart-related medicines (digoxin), water pills (furosemide), bronchodilator (theophylline), anti-allergic drug (chlorphenamine).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

 If you have vaginal bleeding or discharge, difficulty in urination, fever, constipation, blood in stools, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, manic depression, sleep apnoea (breathing stops and starts repeatedly during sleep), spinal or cerebral ataxia, kidney or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

  • Avoid alcohol consumption with CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE as it may increase drowsiness. Please consult a doctor before consuming alcohol while using CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE.

PREGNANCY

  • CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE is not recommended for pregnant women as it may cause harm the foetus. However, please consult a doctor if you are pregnant.

BREAST FEEDING

  • CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers as it is excreted in breast milk.

DRIVING

  • CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE may cause drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision in some people. So, drive only if you are alert and your vision is clear after taking CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE.

LIVER

  • Take CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

KIDNEY

  • Take CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE+MEBEVERINE with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
