He started his clinical practice in Bangalore in the year 2003 in the capacity of a consultant in surgical gastroenterology at Manipal Hospital, Airport Road, Bangalore. During his stay here, he endeavored to advance the field of minimal access surgery particularly for complex gastrointestinal procedures. He initiated Bariatric Surgery programme in the year 2006 in the state. He did pioneering work in the field of 'Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)' in the year 2008 and has the largest experience with the SILS techniques in the whole of south India.In the year 2011, he moved as the Director of GI Services and Chief Surgical Gastroenterologist at BGS Global Hospitals, Bangalore. In the next four years apart from establishing it as a referral centre of excellance in Gastroenterology, he advanced cutting edge techniques in laparoscopic pancreas and liver surgery.
