Retnamicin Eye/Ear Drops
PRODUCT DETAILS
About Retnamicin Eye/Ear Drops
NEOMYCIN+DEXAMETHASONE belongs to the combination of steroids and antibiotics primarily used to treat eye inflammation caused by uveitis, eye injury, chemical burns, radiation, or certain other conditions. NEOMYCIN+DEXAMETHASONE is used when there is a risk of bacterial infection in or around the eye. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the conjunctiva's inflammation or infection (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.
NEOMYCIN+DEXAMETHASONE is a combination of two drugs: Neomycin (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steroid). Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that inhibits the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby killing bacteria. On the other hand, Dexamethasone belongs to the class of steroids that inhibit the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling in the eyes. Thereby, it reduces redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.
