LATANOPROST contains an ophthalmic medication; Latanoprost is used to lower increased eye pressure (ocular hypertension) and treat glaucoma. It is used alone or in combination with other drugs used to lower eye pressure. Increased eye pressure may lead to an illness called glaucoma; if not treated, it can lead to permanent vision loss (optic nerve damage). Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve is damaged. This damage is mostly due to an abnormally increase in eye pressure.
LATANOPROST contains Latanoprost, belongs to a class of medications known as prostaglandin inhibitors. It is primarily used in treating high pressure of the eye. It works by increasing the natural flow from inside the eye into the bloodstream. As a result, the pressure of the eye is decreased.
