About Lancard Trio 40mg/10mg/12.5mg Tablet

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN belongs to a group of medicines called antihypertensives used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries.

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Cilnidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that works by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts such as sodium and potassium from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. Thereby, it relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN contains Chlorthalidone, Cilnidipine, and Telmisartan used to treat high blood pressure. Directions for Use

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may interact with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen), calcium channel blocker (amlodipine), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone), heart-related medicines (quinidine, digoxin), antimaniac drug (lithium), antibiotics (erythromycin, rifampicin), anticonvulsant (phenytoin).

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol with CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure and cause adverse effects such as dizziness, fainting, light-headedness, or headache.

 

PREGNANCY

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN is not recommended for pregnant women as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby.

BREAST FEEDING

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may be excreted in human milk and harm the baby.

DRIVING

CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may cause dizziness or tiredness in some people. Therefore, avoid driving if you feel dizzy or tired after taking CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN.

LIVER

Take CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. 

KIDNEY

Take CHLORTHALIDONE+CILNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions.
