About Fludarither 50 Injection
Fludarabine injection is used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL; a type of cancer of the white blood cells) in adults who have already been treated with at least one other medication and have not gotten better. Fludarabine injection is in a class of medications called purine analogs.
Uses of Fludarither 50 Injection
Fludarabine is used in the treatment of blood cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia).
Medicinal Benefits of Fludarither 50 Injection
Fludarabine is an anticancer medication. It works by interfering with the growth of genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells in blood. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.
Directions for Use
Fludarabine injection comes as a powder to be added to fluid and injected over 30 minutes intravenously (into a vein) by a doctor or nurse in a medical office or hospital outpatient clinic. It is usually injected once a day for 5 days in a row.
Side Effects of Fludarither 50 Injection
Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness, Diarrhea, Fever, Fatigue, Cough, Increased risk of infection, Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)

Drug Warnings
In rare cases, fludarabine may cause serious side effects on your nervous system. Seek medical attention right away if you have any numbness or tingling, burning pain, or vision problems. Fludarabine may also cause serious side effects on your red blood cells.
Drug-Drug Interaction:
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your doctor if you take:
- pentostatin (Nipent)
- cytarabine (Cytostar-U, DepoCyt)

Safety Advice
PREGNANCY
It is not known if fludarabine will harm your unborn baby. Because fludarabine has the potential to harm your unborn baby, take precautions to avoid pregnancy during fludarabine therapy and for at least 6 months after treatments.
Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant while receiving this medication.
BREAST FEEDING
Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if fludarabine is excreted in human breastmilk or if it will harm your nursing baby.
