Etoking TH Tablet
PRODUCT DETAILS
About Etoking TH Tablet
ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics used to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, pain, and muscle spasms. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering (cartilage). Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue), leading to joint pain and damage.
ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Etodolac (NSAID) and Thiocolchicoside (Muscle relaxant). Etodolac blocks the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes other chemical prostaglandins (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Thiocolchicoside works on the centers of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relieve muscle stiffness and improves muscle movements, thereby helping relieve pain due to muscle spasms.
Take ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE with food to avoid stomach upset. Swallow ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE as a whole with water; do not crush or chew the tablet. You are advised to take ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, and indigestion in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not take ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE. ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with ETODOLAC+THIOCOLCHICOSIDE as it could lead to increased dizziness; it might also increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
