About Ebrotop 1% Cream

EBERCONAZOLE belongs to a class of dermatological medication called topical antifungals used in the treatment of fungal or yeast infections of the skin such as athlete’s foot (affects toes), jock itch (affects the groin area), candidiasis (affects mouth, throat, gut, and vagina) and ringworm (affects skin or the scalp)­­­­. Athletes’ feet, jock itch, and ringworm are fungal infections closely related to each other, whereas candidiasis is a yeast infection caused by Candida albicans. These infections are usually seen in people with a weak immune system. They can spread by skin-to-skin contact.

EBERCONAZOLE contains Eberconazole a potent antifungal agent used to treat dermatophytosis (a red, itchy, scaly, circular rash), candidiasis (affects mouth, throat, gut, and vagina), and pityriasis (a scaly rash that sweeps outward like the branches of a pine tree). The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. EBERCONAZOLE causes holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Thereby, clears fungal infections and provides relief from cracking, burning, scaling, and itching of the skin caused due to infections.

EBERCONAZOLE is only for external use. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose depending on your medical condition. Avoid contact with EBERCONAZOLE with the nose, mouth, or eyes. Avoid contact with EBERCONAZOLE with the nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case EBERCONAZOLE comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience itching, irritation, or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of EBERCONAZOLE do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to EBERCONAZOLE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using EBERCONAZOLE. Avoid using EBERCONAZOLE on open wounds, and damaged or broken skin. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with airtight dressings unless advised by a doctor. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as EBERCONAZOLE catches fire and burns easily. If you have rosacea (redness and often red, small, pus-filled bumps on the face), acne, perioral dermatitis (redness and swelling of the skin around the mouth), psoriasis, or liver problems, genital itching, or other skin problems, inform your doctor before taking EBERCONAZOLE.

Directions for Use

EBERCONAZOLE is available in the form of topical (skin use) cream. Cream: Clean and dry the affected area. Then, apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area. Wash your hands before and after use. Use the medicine as recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose or do not abruptly stop the medication without the doctor’s advice. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. Do not apply this medication to the eyes. If the medication gets accidentally into the eyes, rinse with water thoroughly.

If you are known to be allergic to EBERCONAZOLE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not use EBERCONAZOLE in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using EBERCONAZOLE. Use the EBERCONAZOLE with caution in old age and with children. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as the fabric (bedding, clothing, dressings) that is in contact with EBERCONAZOLE catches fire and burns easily which is a serious fire hazard. If you have psoriasis, systemic lupus erythematosus (an autoimmune disease), or kidney or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking EBERCONAZOLE. Avoid using EBERCONAZOLE on open wounds, and damaged or broken skin. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with airtight dressings unless advised by a doctor. Do not swallow EBERCONAZOLE and in case of accidental swallowing, consult a doctor immediately. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as EBERCONAZOLE catches fire and burns easily. You are advised not to scratch or prick the infected areas of the skin as it may spread or worsen the skin condition.

ALCOHOL

The interaction of alcohol with EBERCONAZOLE is unknown. Please consult a doctor before consuming alcohol with EBERCONAZOLE.

PREGNANCY

The safety of EBERCONAZOLE in pregnant women is unknown. Therefore, it is given to pregnant women only if the doctor thinks the benefits outweigh the risks.

BREAST FEEDING

It is unknown whether EBERCONAZOLE is excreted in human milk. Please consult your doctor before taking EBERCONAZOLE if you are breastfeeding. If you need to apply the cream on your breasts, don't do this shortly before giving a feed.

DRIVING

EBERCONAZOLE does not affect your ability to drive.

LIVER

Take EBERCONAZOLE with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

KIDNEY

Take EBERCONAZOLE with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
