About Coatz-AF Syrup

OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE belongs to a group of medicines called antiulcerants used to treat bloating, gas, and stomach ulcers. The stomach is usually protected from the acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to complications like acidity and stomach ulcers. Bloating occurs when the abdomen is filled with gas or air. Stomach ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.
 
OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE is a combination of three drugs: Sucralfate (anti-ulcer), Simethicone (anti-flatulent), and Oxetacaine (local anaesthetic). Sucralfate protects the damaged ulcer tissue in the stomach and facilitates its healing. Simethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitates the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby provides relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach. Together, OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE provides relief from bloating, and ulcers.

Sucralfate protects the damaged ulcer tissue in the stomach and facilitates its healing. Simethicone is a mixture of silica gel and dimethicone. It is also known as activated dimethicone. Simethicone works by lowering the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitates the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby provides relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach. Together, OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE provides relief from bloating and ulcers.

Directions for Use

Take OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE with or without food. Take the prescribed dose/quantity of OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the bottle well before each use. Depending on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE.

Drug Warnings

Do not take OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE if you have a history of appendicitis, blockage of the bowel, rectal bleeding, kidney problems; if you are on a low-magnesium diet, or if you have undergone recent bowel surgery. Do not take OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE should not be given to children as the safety have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE as it could lead to increased acidity. 

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction:

OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE may have interaction with anti-hypertensive (metoprolol), vitamin (ascorbic acid), hormone (levothyroxine). 

Drug-Disease Interaction:

OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE may have interactions with renal dysfunction.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increases acidity and heartburn.

PREGNANCY

Please consult your doctor before taking OXETACAINE+SIMETHICONE+SUCRALFATE if you are pregnant. Your doctor will prescribe if the benefits outweigh the risks.

BREAST FEEDING
