About Azovas T 80 Tablet

AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN belongs to the class of anti-hypertensive drugs primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a medical condition in which the blood pressure is elevated persistently in the arteries. High blood pressure is mostly caused by obesity, diabetes, smoking, high salt intake, stress, lack of physical activity or ageing.

AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN is composed of Azelnidipine and Telmisartan. Azelnidipine blocks the activity of the calcium channels present in the blood vessels of the heart. As a result, the blood vessels widen, and the blood supply to the heart increases. Thereby, lowers the elevated blood pressure and the workload placed on the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin receptors, thereby allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Together, AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN helps in treating hypertension.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin), blood thinners (heparin), medicines used to treat heart problems (digoxin), high blood pressure-lowering medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone), muscle relaxant (tizanidine), and antibiotics (trimethoprim).

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

It is advised to limit alcohol intake since alcohol consumption with AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may increase the risk of low blood pressure and cause adverse effects, such as dizziness, fainting, light-headedness or headache.

 

PREGNANCY

AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN contains Telmisartan, therefore it should be discontinued if pregnancy is detected as it might cause harm to the unborn baby.

DRIVING

AZELNIDIPINE+TELMISARTAN may cause side effects like dizziness and weakness, affecting your ability to concentrate and drive.

LIVER
