About Apresol Plus Tablet
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE belongs to a group of heart-related medicines called 'vasodilators used to treat heart failure. Heart failure occurs when the hearts muscle does not pump blood normally, including shortness of breath, swollen legs, fatigue and increased heartbeat. In this condition, the heart becomes too weak and cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to the organs and tissues of our body.

Medicinal Benefits of Apresol Plus Tablet
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE belongs to a group of vasodilators used to treat heart failure. HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE is a fixed-dose combination composed of two medicines, namely, Isosorbide dinitrate and Hydralazine. Isosorbide dinitrate belongs to a group of drugs known as nitrates. Isosorbide dinitrate relaxes the heart's muscles and stretching or enlarging the veins and arteries of the heart. It is used to treat angina (chest pain) and other heart-related diseases. Hydralazine belongs to a group of drugs known as vasodilators which help lowers raised blood pressure by relaxing and widening the heart's blood vessels.
Directions for Use
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is usually taking three times a day or as prescribed by your doctor. Doses of the HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE will decide by your doctor but generally start with low doses and increase the dose. Do not chew or crush it.

Drug Warnings
Do not take HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE if you have low blood pressure because even a low dose of HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE may produce low blood pressure. If you are pregnant or planning for any pregnancy, let your doctor know about this before taking HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE as it crosses the placenta and can affect the unborn baby (fetus). Do not drive by using this HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE because it produces dizziness that may cause an accident. You may experience tingling or numbness so your doctor may prescribe a vitamin B6 supplement (pyridoxine). Hydralazine passes into breast milk, so its use in lactating mother should be avoided.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction:
Care should be exercised when HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE is administered in combination with migraine headache medicines (ergotamine), drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (inability to get enlarged penis) (sildenafil, tadalafil), pain killers (ibuprofen, naproxen).
Drug-Disease Interaction:
People affected by hypotension (low blood pressure), erectile dysfunction (inability to get enlarged penis) should not take HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE.
Safety Advice
ALCOHOL
Taking HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE and alcohol may cause side effects like dizziness and nausea.
PREGNANCY
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE is not safe in pregnancy because of hydralazine drug present in the HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE which crosses the placenta
BREAST FEEDING
Not safe because it is not found that either isosorbide dinitrate or hydralazine is excreted in human milk.
DRIVING
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE may cause dizziness in some people, so it may affect your ability to drive.
LIVER
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE to be taken with caution, especially if you have a history of liver diseases/conditions. The dose may have to be adjusted by your doctor
KIDNEY
HYDRALAZINE+ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE to be taken with caution, especially if you have a history of kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may have to be adjusted by your doctor.
