PRODUCT DETAILS
About Acnethro-C Gel
CLINDAMYCIN belongs to the class of medication called 'lincosamide antibiotics' primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections like acne (pimples), infections of the abdomen, bone, skin, heart, and soft tissues. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. CLINDAMYCIN will not work for viral infections, such as common cold and flu.
CLINDAMYCIN contains 'Clindamycin' that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which stops bacterial growth. It shows a bacteriostatic effect, which prevents the multiplication of bacteria but doesn't kill them. CLINDAMYCIN effectively treats infections caused by gram-positive and anaerobic (living without air) bacteria, including susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumonia, and Clostridium perfringens. CLINDAMYCIN treats serious infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria in the abdomen, gastrointestinal tract, lower respiratory tract, on the skin, and in the genitourinary area.
CLINDAMYCIN is available in the form of oral, topical, intravenous, and intramuscular formulations. The oral forms of CLINDAMYCIN include capsule and powder for solution. Swallow the capsule as a whole with a glass of water with or without food. Do not chew, crush or break it. Topical forms of CLINDAMYCIN include gel, cream, and lotion. Intravenous and intramuscular forms of CLINDAMYCIN are injected into the body with the help of a syringe. Like all medicines, CLINDAMYCIN also causes side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects of CLINDAMYCIN include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn, joint pain/swelling, dark urine, and abnormal liver function tests.
Brief your medical history the doctor, if you are allergic to CLINDAMYCIN or any of its components. Let your doctor know if have any liver disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases (colitis, an inflammation of the colon), and allergic conditions (asthma, hay fever, eczema). Do not use CLINDAMYCIN while having vaccinations with live bacterial vaccines (typhoid vaccine) since CLINDAMYCIN may affect vaccines' activity. The injection form of CLINDAMYCIN may sometimes contain benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which can cross the placenta in pregnant and cause gasping syndrome (multi-organ failure) in pediatric patients. Hence, CLINDAMYCIN should be used only with a doctor's advice during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Sometimes, antibiotic medications can cause antibiotic resistance. In such cases, your doctor may prescribe other antibiotics, you are not resistant to.
