Dr Soumen Das graduated (MBBS) from the prestigeous Medical College, Kolkata. Dr. Das has an incredible career record. During MBBS he secured five honurs certificates and three gold medals. He finished MBBS in the year 2006 where he was the University topper in Surgery. He did his post-graduation (MS- Surgery) from the same institute with the prestigeous BEST RESIDENT SURGEON AWARD. During this he was also awarded the UMA RANI SAHA GOLD MEDAL award by Association of Surgeons India. After MS he went to the best cancer institute in India- TATA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, Mumbai to complete fellowship (FUICC) in Surgical Oncology awarded by UICC, Geneva. Dr. Das is also the recipient of many awards like- SIR FRANK KONAR PRIZE, DR RASOMOY GANGULY MEMORIAL AWARD, BISHNU PADA THAKUR MEMORIAL AWARD, Smt ANUKA BANERJEE MEMORIAL AWARD, BEST SPEAKER AWARD at “Oncologics” A day on Breast Cancer, K. K. GHOSH MEMORIAL AWARD, UMA RANI SAHA GOLD MEDAL, NADIA AWARD, GODREJ KARAI TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP award. Dr. Das is presently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Surgery, IPGMER, SSKM Hospital, Kolkata. He is also the associte in the Surgical Oncology division. He is also the Managing Editor of two journals: International Journal of Surgical Studies and Asia Pacific Journal Of Medical Science. He Is Currently an Executive Member of ASI state chapter.
