Dr Sajid Ahmed Afzal, completed his MBBS from M R Medical college Gulbarga Karnataka in 1997 and Post graduation from Govt medical college Mysore Karnataka in 2002. He did his one year fellowship of comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cornea from West lions eye hospital Bangalore in the year 2003 -2004. He successfully completed Diplomate of national board (DNB) in Ophthalmology from Ranga reddy lions eye hospital Secunderabad in 2006 and was practicing in twin cities for some time, later he went and joined Lotus eye care hospital as consultant cornea and cataract surgeries, and he had privilege to work with Dr Sunderamurthy, one of the pioneer in Refractive surgeries. He then shifted to Hyderabad to join Vasan eye care hospital Himayatnagar as chief medical officer and cornea surgeon in 2009. He then joined Aravind eye hospital as senior Opthalmic surgeon (Cornea Cataract and Refractive services) in april 2011. He has 10 years of experience in ophthalmology and more than 12000 Small incision cataract surgeries and about 10000 Phacoemulsification with foldable lens implantation to his credit. He has lot of experience in implantation of premium IOLs like MICS, Multifocal, torric and phakic IOLs(ICL). He is also experienced in Lasik, epilasik and management of keratoconus with C3R and Intacorneal rings.
