Dr. Nandkumar Sundaram, the renowned orthopedic surgeon, has been successfully performing joint replacement surgeries in the country for the past three decades. He has successfully performed more than 5000 knee and hip replacement surgeries till date. He pioneered the art of total shoulder replacement surgery first in the country.Dr. Nandkumar Sundram returned from UK to pursue his practice to help the needy in this country. Did extensive work in the field of Orthopaedic Oncology and was instrumental in setting up a Bone bank, the first of its kind in India in 1994.He was recognised as an instructor and guide by the National Board of Examinations, MCI and was involved in training two students every year for the award of the degree of Dip. National Board Exams. He later moved on to Malar Hospitals, Adyar in 1998 and did some exemplary Ortho cases. He was awarded the Best Doctor Award of the Govt. of Tamilnadu by the Governor of TN in 2011.
