Dr Jayam Kannan is a gynaecologist par excellence with 40 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has over 30,000 successful deliveries to her credit! She has been one of the pioneers of infertility treatment in the state of Tamilnadu.She is an emeritus professor of TN Dr MGR Medical University and serves as the chairperson of the National Adolecent Health Committee, FOGSI.She did her D.G.O., M.D. from Madurai Medical College after completing M.B.B.S from Thanjavur Medical College. As a student of medicine, she had won 13 out of 15 medals and bagged the President of India Award for 'Best Student in Medicine' in 1968.
